At church in the Acres, we hold to a strong belief that young adults should not wait another moment to live for and serve the Lord! So with that in mind, we reach out to students at area colleges and seek to engage them for Jesus today.
Sometimes this means starting or supporting weekly Bible studies. College students are already engaging their minds and strongly desire to understand what God is saying through His word. Sometimes those studies happen at lunch time and often they happen in the late night hours allowing students to finish classes and sports and still engage in ministry right on their campuses.
The guys hang out after a great nite of Bible Study and worship music With Mike and Mel!
Sisters in Christ!
Ministry exploration trips are a great way for students to learn about the world around them as well as learning about other students from area campuses. The students pictured above represented Westfield State College, Springfield College and Western New England College. The trip was to LA and they did ministry in South Central LA working with those in need and other missionaries to the inner city. Since this trip, 2 of those pictured have gone on to serve the Lord in vocational Christian ministry.
Our last Bible Study of the year! Many here are Seniors moving on to begin their life journey. We will miss them dearly!
To stay close to the heart beat of college ministry Pastor Greg serves as the Protestant Chaplain at Springfield College. This puts our ministry on that campus each week, providing Christ- centered support to the Students, Staff and Faculty at the college.
College ministry is active and engaging. Often the students we work with assist us in reaching out to youth in our community. Being mentored by someone about your own stage of life can be a powerful witness for Christ. We are thankful for work we are allowed to do with area college students, training them to engage with teens in our community. The students are making an impact for eternity!
Kaelumway came to Jam with us and we Broke Bread with them and enjoyed an incredible night of worship! Many local Christian musicians come and share at Springfield College.
We are glad to have students sometimes assist us with our weekly youth group ministry. From playing Ga-Ga to assisting with Bible studies, these students become important assets to our work for Jesus.
The partnership with area colleges who are concerned about the Spiritual development of their students has proven to be a great asset to the students, the area churches doing outreach and the schools themselves
One of the great things that college students are doing is praying for you! Please remember to pray for them too as we work with them for the cause of Jesus Christ.
Many of the Springfield College students spend 4 years with us at the “Tuesday Bible Study”. It is hard to let them go but we send them well equipped!
